Love Stays Young

I remember when love was young

When the heart beat strong

And wild things grew lush and free

Colours bloom as fairy dust

Blowing across blue skies

And we galloped across starry skies

Chasing our dreams

And the night was magic

Silver light, pushing back the dark

No shadows lingering where we walked

Our voices,

Like lively music, echoed through the streets

We were young then

And still believed

Unjaded, untainted

Souls alight with hope

Floating upwards

Blinded by the light shining in our eyes

We didn’t see the darkness

Of the world just beyond

The years have passed

The sight grows dim

Pale wrinkled skin now frame our hands

But, the heart beats strong

And love grows wild

And inside our colours

Love still feels young.
